Qian 94: Su Wu Herds Sheep

Story
During Emperor Wu of Han, Su Wu was sent as an envoy to the Xiongnu but was detained and exiled to the northern sea (Lake Baikal) to herd sheep for nineteen years. He never lost his Han envoy's staff. Later he returned to Han, his hair fully white. This sign signifies that persevering in integrity will eventually bring a perfect ending.
Oracle Poem
Nineteen years on the cold northern sea, / His staff's tassels all gone, but his will still free. / When he returned, the Han emperor asked with care, / White-haired, loyal heart shines in history's glare.
Interpretation
Career: Long-term persistence finally pays off, but the process is extremely hard. Relationships: Long-distance relationship or long-term trial; after holding on, the moon shines bright. Wealth: Slow and steady; not suitable for quick money.
