Sign 85: Su Qin Carries the Sword on His Back
Superior Fortune
Story
Su Qin successfully persuaded six states to form an alliance against Qin and was appointed prime minister of all six, returning home in glory. In his days of poverty, his wife ignored his loom, his sister-in-law wouldn't cook for him; now they knelt and bowed before him. This sign signifies that after extreme hardship comes fortune, and a triumphant return home.
Oracle Poem
Six states' seals hung at his waist; Former sister-in-law and wife knelt on the path. Do not say a scholar is of little use; He dares to cross seas and fight for truth.
Interpretation
Career: After bitter times, sweetness comes; fame and fortune arrive. Seize the momentum to expand. Love: Old ties hard to resume; a new relationship approaches. After status rises, a worthy partner appears. Wealth: Main income is very strong; diversify investments.
