Sign 71: King Wen Seeks the Virtuous
Supreme Fortune
Story
King Wen of Zhou was imprisoned by King Zhou of Shang in Youli, where he deduced the hexagrams of the I Ching. Upon returning to his kingdom, he sought talented individuals. One night, he dreamed of a flying bear entering his tent, so he went hunting to the Wei River and met Jiang Shang fishing. King Wen bowed to him as his teacher, eventually completing the overthrow of Shang. This sign signifies a thirst for talent and gaining support through virtue.
