Story

King Wen of Zhou was imprisoned by King Zhou of Shang in Youli, where he deduced the hexagrams of the I Ching. Upon returning to his kingdom, he sought talented individuals. One night, he dreamed of a flying bear entering his tent, so he went hunting to the Wei River and met Jiang Shang fishing. King Wen bowed to him as his teacher, eventually completing the overthrow of Shang. This sign signifies a thirst for talent and gaining support through virtue.

Oracle Poem

Seven years in Youli, hexagrams he cast, A flying bear's dream led him to the fishing mast. By Wei River's bank, the sage king found his man, Zhou's eight-hundred-year reign thus began.

Interpretation

This sign is very auspicious, indicating the arrival of a benefactor. In career, one should actively seek cooperation; leaders can obtain talented subordinates. In love, active pursuit is needed; in wealth, there is cooperative gain. The poem's "flying bear's dream" foretells an opportunity approaching.
