签67:姜太公钓鱼

Supreme Fortune

Story

Jiang Shang, at seventy, fished at the Wei River with a straight hook three feet above the water, saying "The willing fish will bite." King Wen of Zhou, while hunting, dreamed of a flying bear entering his tent. Searching for the worthy, he found Jiang Shang and appointed him Grand Preceptor. Later, Jiang assisted King Wu in overthrowing the Shang and canonizing gods into kingdoms. This fortune signifies that great talent matures late and one should wait patiently for the opportunity.

Oracle Poem

Fishing at the Wei River, a seventy-year-old elder; The straight hook had no intention of angling for a prince. The flying bear entered the dream, wind and clouds converged; The eight-hundred-year foundation of Zhou was in his hands.

Interpretation
