Zhuang Zhou dreamed he was a butterfly, fluttering about happily, unaware of being Zhou. Suddenly he woke up and found himself unmistakably Zhou. He did not know whether he was Zhou dreaming of being a butterfly, or a butterfly dreaming of being Zhou. This is the theory of transformation, stating that all things and I become one, and life and death are like a dream.
Oracle Poem
Butterfly dream fluttering, self and things are forgot, / Awake, still bearing the fragrance of a hundred flowers. / All worldly matters are just like this a lot, / Why fuss and argue over short and long hours?
Interpretation
This medium sign advises going with the flow. In career, do not force gains and losses; adapt to circumstances. In love, let go of attachments and let things develop naturally. Finances are plain; do not be overly concerned. Zhuangzi's dream illustrates life as a dream; it advises you to look lightly on fame and profit.
