Sign 33: Jiang Taigong Fishing
Supreme Fortune
Story
Jiang Shang, over seventy years old, fished at the Wei River with a straight hook three feet above the water, saying: "Only those fated to die will take the bait!" King Wen of Zhou, while hunting, performed divination and was told: "What you catch is not a dragon or a chi, but a helper of the hegemon." He indeed met Taigong and appointed him Grand Tutor. Later, Taigong aided King Wu in overthrowing the Shang and was enfeoffed in Qi, laying the foundation for eight hundred years of the Qi state.
