Sign 32: Liu Yuxi Visits Xuandu Temple

Average Fortune

Story

Liu Yuxi, involved in the Yongzhen Reform, was exiled to Langzhou. Ten years later he was recalled and upon visiting Xuandu Temple wrote: "A thousand peach trees in Xuandu Temple were all planted after I left." The powerful resented the satire, so he was exiled again to Lianzhou. Fourteen years later he returned, visited the temple again, and wrote: "Where has the Taoist who planted peaches gone? The former Liu has come again!"

Oracle Poem

Peach and plum blossoms bloom anew with spring breeze, / Liu's comings and goings are not his own decree. / A thousand flowers in Xuandu Temple stand tall, / He smiles to see floating clouds pass by all.

Interpretation

This medium sign reflects the impermanence of worldly affairs. Career twists and turns, but your talent will eventually shine. In love, old ties are hard to renew, but new ones await. Finances fluctuate; it is best to treat them with equanimity. Liu Yuxi's openness lies in seeing through; it advises you not to be trapped by gains and losses.
