Sign 7: Su Niang Flees Hardship
Inferior Fortune
Story
Su Hui, styled Ruolan, was the wife of Dou Tao, governor of Qin Province under the Former Qin. Dou Tao favored his concubine Zhao Yangtai and became distant from Hui. Later, Dou Tao was stationed in Xiangyang, and Hui did not accompany him, left alone in her empty chamber. She wove brocade into the *Xuanji Tu*—over eight hundred characters that could be read in any direction as poetry—and sent it to Dou Tao. Touched, Dou Tao dismissed Zhao Yangtai and welcomed Hui to Xiangyang. This sign indicates being abandoned and humiliated, but using talent to win back favor.

Interpretation
This sign is inauspicious, like a lone boat caught in the wind. In career, you may face jealousy from colleagues or unfair treatment from superiors; rely on your talents to protect yourself, don't fight head-on. In love, there is a sign of being neglected or betrayed, but if you show wisdom, there is still room for change. Financial luck is poor; avoid lending. This sign suggests: when in trouble, use gentleness to overcome hardness; solve problems with wisdom rather than emotion.
